Trump to Announce Multi-Billion Dollar Gaza Reconstruction Plan

President Donald Trump is set to unveil a multi-billion dollar reconstruction initiative for Gaza and outline plans for a United Nations–authorised stabilization force during the first formal meeting of his Board of Peace next week, according to two senior U.S. officials.

The meeting, scheduled for February 19 in Washington, D.C., will be chaired by Trump and is expected to bring together delegations from at least 20 countries, including several heads of state. The officials shared the details on condition of anonymity, and the plans for this inaugural Board of Peace session have not been previously reported.

A central element of the next phase of Trump’s Gaza strategy—first introduced in September—is the deployment of an International Stabilization Force. The initial phase of the plan saw a fragile ceasefire take effect on October 10 in the two-year conflict. Since then, Hamas has released hostages, and Israel has freed detained Palestinians.

At the upcoming meeting, Trump is expected to announce that multiple countries have committed to contributing several thousand troops to the stabilization force, which could be deployed in Gaza in the coming months, the officials said.
